District Attorney George Brauchler started the New Year with the launch of a Conviction Review Unit to examine legitimate claims of actual innocence from convicted felons serving time in prison or community corrections.
- Anyone can submit a case for review, and the event is open to anyone.
- Members of the volunteer review team must be retired.
The District Attorney's Office is seeking applications from retired professionals to serve on the volunteer review panel - from a variety of backgrounds, not just retired prosecutors. All of the supporting documents for the process can be accessed here: http://www.da18.org/conviction-review-unit/
