NOTE: We are accepting gently used 'Junior/Teen' sizes for boys and girls in Small, Medium and Large. Smaller adult sizes will work too. Gently used smaller shoes would be great too!

“LAWSUITS”-PAYING FORWARD YOUR PROFESSIONAL CLOTHING FOR MOCK TRIAL STUDENTS

The ACBA has been a long-time supporter and host for most of the nearly 40 years there has been a Colorado High School Mock Trial Competition.

Not all student participants can afford to have professional looking clothing.  It is often a herculean effort just to start a team, obtain coaching and field at least 6 students to compete from some of the schools in our district.  While not a problem for many students from private schools, many public students do not own a suit, tie, blouse, dress shoes or other accoutrements necessary to pull off successfully competing in the tournament.

Remember that first professional suit of armor you had and how proud you felt being able to start peering into adulthood and career life. 

This year the Arapahoe County Bar Foundation [ACBF] and the ACBA will be collecting professional clothing for students to compete in Mock Trial Competition.  You likely have gently used suits, dresses, sportscoats, dress shirts and blouses collecting dust in the closets of your home.  Since the competitors are in high school, perhaps your children have grown out of their first set of professional clothing.  No doubt you have new or nearly new dress shoes that you just didn’t end up caring for or which didn’t quite fit.  Ties, appropriate jewelry, scarfs, etc. are welcome as well.  

Simply have the items dry cleaned and drop them off at any ACBA event, or to Miller and Steiert, 1901 W. Littleton Blvd.  The ACBF will cover the cost of alterations and getting the clothing to students.  The students will be able to keep the clothing for use in interviews, celebrations and other events as they start their professional journeys.
