This CLE will summarize the newly created Licensed Legal Paraprofessional Program. It will go over the core areas of change, including (1) the requirements for an LLP to become licensed, (2) the rules of civil procedure governing the scope of practice for an LLP under C.R.C.P. 207, and (3) changes to the Colorado Rules of Professional Conduct affecting both LLPs and lawyers. The bulk of the presentation will address the scope of practice for an LLP with a focus on (1) the cases that an LLP can handle, (2) the cases that LLPs cannot handle, and (3) the areas of ambiguity in between.”
